Questions

Is the music on lofinap.com free?

Yes. Every song is by Purrple Cat and licensed CC BY 4.0. Stream it here, download the MP3s, and use it on social media and livestreams with credit: “Music by Purrple Cat”.

Will the music keep me awake?

It’s built not to. The drift songs are the calmest Purrple Cat tracks, and after a few minutes the music fades down to a whisper (or almost silence) until it’s time to wake up.

How does the wake-up work?

In the last minute of your nap, the wake-up song you picked fades up from silence to full volume. You can add 5 more minutes or tap “I’m up”.

Does it work with my phone locked?

Keep the tab open. lofinap asks your screen to stay on while you nap (most modern browsers allow it). If your phone locks anyway, the music may pause, so set a backup alarm for anything important.

What’s the best nap length?

For most people a 10 to 20 minute power nap is the sweet spot: you wake up before deep sleep. 90 minutes covers about one full sleep cycle. 30 minutes is the riskiest for grogginess. See the nap tips.

Who is Purrple Cat?

A solo lofi project making cozy instrumental music since December 2018 (the first album, Up All Night, came out on December 7, 2018). 500+ songs, 500M+ streams and 425K followers, and no face reveal.

Can I upload these songs to Spotify or Apple Music?

No. Never upload the music, or remixes, samples or covers of it, to music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music. It causes false Content ID claims. Videos, social posts and livestreams are fine with credit.
